Although born and raised in Taiwan, I spent most of my life outside of Taiwan, mainly in Malaysia and the U.S. I currently live in Oregon, a state just north of California, and I have been in the U.S. for more than 20 years now. I got my teaching degree from Willamette University in Salem Oregon, a reputable private university well-known for its programs in education and law. I also hold a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Oregon State University. Besides my formal training, I have years of tutoring experience, including piano, Chinese, English, and math. My students ranged anywhere from preschoolers to working professionals. In my last job, I taught a world cultures class to grades K to 5 (elementary school grades), a total of 280 students from 10 classes. My diverse experience helps me better teach students of various ages and backgrounds. So whatever it is that you want to learn about English (or about the U.S.), I am confident that I can help you achieve the goal and get you results.
And here's a little bit more about me besides teaching:
In my free time I like to enjoy the outdoors, such as hiking, biking, and camping, but I'm also an avid reader in both English and Chinese. I am a BIG fan of musicals and close-up magic. I love to cook and am also a Le Cordon Bleu trained culinarian in classical French cuisine (although my kids don't always appreciate my cooking). I LOVE to eat (and drink) and enjoy a wide variety of cuisines.
