I know what it feels like to listen to a teacher explain something…
and feel more confused the longer they talk.
That used to happen to me all the time.
The explanations were long, abstract, and hard to follow.
So my classmates would turn to me and ask,
“Can you explain it again?”
They knew I could say it in a simpler, clearer way.
That’s why I love teaching today.
Helping students reach that “aha” moment never gets old. ✨

📚 How My Math Lessons Work 📚
1️⃣ Personalized Diagnostic Check
We start by checking what the student knows, forgot, never fully learned, or misunderstands.
2️⃣ Clear Learning Plan
I create a plan based on the student’s goal: catching up, keeping up with class, switching schools, learning math in English, or preparing for SAT math.
3️⃣ Step-by-Step Teaching
I break down each problem slowly and clearly using simple explanations, drawings, diagrams, whiteboard work, and real-life examples.
4️⃣ Custom Practice
I create practice based on the student’s actual mistakes, class topics, weak spots, and difficulty level.
5️⃣ Word Problem Training
Students learn how to understand the situation, choose the right operation, and check if their answer makes sense.
6️⃣ Progress Tracking
I track quiz scores, missed questions, and repeated mistake patterns so parents can see clear progress over time.
7️⃣ Personal Review Notes
Each student gets a personal Google Doc with lesson notes, screenshots, missed questions, and step-by-step explanations saved by date.
8️⃣ Helpful Learning Tools
I use Khan Academy, IXL, Desmos, Quizlet, Blooket, whiteboard practice, and custom AI-created quizzes to make lessons targeted and interactive.
9️⃣ Ongoing Adjustments
Every few lessons, I adjust the plan based on what is improving, what still feels hard, and what the student needs next.
🔢 Math Areas I Support 🔢
Elementary math, middle school math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, and SAT Math.
📌 Note: I can help with some Pre-Calculus or Calculus topics, but my strongest areas are elementary math, middle school math, Algebra, Geometry, and SAT Math.
✨ Why Parents Choose My Math Lessons ✨
Many students do not actually hate math. They hate feeling confused, rushed, or embarrassed when math does not make sense yet.
My goal is to slow math down and make every step feel clear. I help students understand what the problem is really asking, why we choose a certain method, and how to check if the answer makes sense.
Because I also teach English and learn Mandarin, I understand how easily students can get stuck on the language of math. Sometimes the problem is not the calculation. It is the wording, the vocabulary, or the way the question is written.
I do not just correct answers. I look for the thinking behind the mistake. Then I help students build better habits, stronger logic, and more confidence one step at a time.
